I used a simple base-coat and wash technique to finish my US Army for Bolt Action. It is a quick and easy technique that produces pretty good results for the table. If you are shy about painting I urge you to go for it and start with this technique. It can also be brought up more by simple adding a layer of highlight or two. This technique could be used on anything by just changing the colors. I’ll also cover the colors I used if you are interested for your own US force and how I did the basing.
A continuation of the rundown of my US Army collection for Bolt Action. This covers the next two expansions of my force. It has become quite the collection at this point and it is all painted!
Listening to the cast you have probably heard about how I finished my US Army force for Bolt Action. This is the first full army in any game I have completed! This post is just to showcase and let you see what I have collected so far. For newer players, maybe you can get some ideas of what to buy or ways to approach the hobby side of the game. (more…)
I’m getting lots of Bolt Action games lately! I was able to catch one at Misty Mountain Games this Tuesday night against Aaron. It is my second solo game against Japanese and also my second with this list with some new toys. There is also a big order dice discrepancy in this game. We are playing Demolition in what is a fairly bloody game.
Well it may be a little late with the Heroes of the Resistance coming fairly soon but I had started this just before its announcement. I’m still glad I did it and I have a Poe Dameron black and orange x-wing before the release. I wasn’t going for super detailed but I would have to say the quality is still better than a stock model so there is some satisfaction there as well. Here’s a look at mine and a bit of a guide if you want to do this repaint.
I was able to catch a game of Bolt Action against Robert at Misty last week. We played a 1000 point game with my US Army vs. his Imperial Japanese Army. We rolled for a scenario from the book and came up with Point Defense. Robert won the initial roll off and chose to attack in my first solo game against Japanese.
Broken rifle barrels seem to be a very common thing in Bolt Action. I contemplated a few ways of repair but here is how I did it. It is a pretty simple idea especially for anyone with modeling experience. Maybe that’s why there didn’t seem to be anything out there for a tutorial or how to. For anyone wondering though; here is a proven and relatively simple method. (more…)
I’m on winter break from school and now that the holidays are done I was able to stir up some Bolt Action back at Misty this past Thursday. I had a 1000 point game with my US Army against Justin playing his US Paratrooper force in Maximum Attrition. (more…)
This is the blog post for my long time secret, recently revealed, conversion project I had been doing. I have been working on this guy on and off for about a year and finally have the modeling pretty well done. This is the sum up what I did as well as my thoughts making this guy.
My most recent game of Bolt Action from last week at Misty Mountain Games. I played against Brian Ward with a German list he planned to bring to a tournament the coming week end. I played my same US Army list from the previous week that I’m working on. We rolled up a scenario and got Hold Until Relieved. Brian won the roll off and choose to attack!
