If you are like me, then you enjoy winning. The key to that in Batman Miniature Game Third Edition is the objective deck. If you are one of those people, then this is the right spot. We’ll work on leveraging the general objective cards to optimize your Joker crew.
One of the challenges that players face with Batman Miniature Game Third Edition is what cards to include in their objective deck. Between the crew specific cards, the general cards, and the character unique cards it can be overwhelming to determine what cards work for you.
Add in the complexity of having to then analyze your crew build to so that you can complete those objective cards just tosses another challenge into the mix. In order to win consistently in this game I find that you need to score 20+ points in the game. With Joker I actually find that I need to be in the 25+ points range.
Let’s take a look at the general card deck and see what makes sense to take.
Another big week for crowdsourcing. I have three projects again this week. There’s are so many big projects on Kickstarter currently that I feel that I had to include a bonus project for this week and still couldn’t include everything I wanted to.
Cryptozoic Entertainment is releasing it’s take on the Frank Miller Batman in their project Batman: The Dark Knight Returns – The Game. This game can be played either as a stand alone missions or as a campaign game with each mission’s results impacting the next. The game is designed as a solo play experience. There will be four scenarios (books) that you will be able to play through.
During the game, you will need to collect clues that will advance the mission. Be aware though, that the doomsday clock persists over all of the scenarios and you can be assured that in campaign mode if this is ignored to much it will only be bad things for Batman. However, you can visit the Batcave to unlock vehicles, interact with aids like Carrie Kelly Robin and Jim Gordon for extra help, and you will have plenty of gadgets to help the worlds greatest, but older, detective.
Because we can’t get enough cute little forest critters duking it out for forest dominance, Leder Games has another expansion just for you. Root: The Marauder Expansion will give you two more factions to choose from. The Keepers in Iron (badgers) and the Lord of the Hundreds (rats) will add new asymmetric play styles to your games of Root. Add in the Hirelings, and there’s quite a bit of new content that you can add into your games.
Marauders is aimed at improving two player game play within the Root game system. I feel like I exhausted the game play available from the core box for two players and have shelved the game until I can play it with others. This expansion just might the answer for us to take it back off the shelf and give it a play with new content.
Paladins of the West Kingdom is one of my favorite games. It’s satisfyingly complex, challenging decisions, and really solid game play. It’s no surprise that it’s receiving an expansion. Garphill Games are bringing us City of Crowns to add additional flavor to our games of Paladins.
Featuring an expansion to the main board on the right hand side, you will have new actions including the Muster and Negotiate actions. These actions will have their own cards and will allow revealing more Townsfolk and Outsiders to the board each round. In addition, you will have the new Diplomacy attribute to manage. Finally, updated solo play rules for those of you who love or need that experience to play games like these.
Did we miss your favorite project?
If you find these interesting, or think I missed a Kickstarter that you would like to hear more about please share your thoughts with us via our social media or at our email.
If you are slightly familiar with Batman you are probably aware of the League of Assassins. The League has been a common adversary of the caped crusader. Thus they have a representation in Knight Model’s Batman Miniature Game.
There have been many members and storylines involving the League and Knight Models provides a great selection to choose from to create a crew. There are amazing options to choose from to create a powerful crew. Here are my secrets to becoming a member of the League of Assassins.
Every year Knight Models releases a new, limited print run miniature during their Black Friday sale. This year’s model is a brutal, well armed, alternate version of Batman, The Grim Knight!
The Grim Knight comes from an alternate universe to the main DC comic books. In this universe, after the fall of his parents to Joe Chill Bruce Wayne takes up guns. Not just one gun, but lots of guns as can be seen on the miniature.
In that moment where Bruce’s parents are murdered, Joe Chill drops his gun and gathers the pearls that are bounding around the street. It’s in that one moment that this alternate Bruce picks up the gun. Fires the gun. Not only altering Bruce Wayne forever by changing that one rule that makes Batman so unique over other vigilantes. Bruce kills Joe Chill.
In this article, I review the latest Black Friday special release model from Knight Models. Check out The Grim Knight and see what he can do!
If there is anything that makes Batman the well loved super hero that he is it’s the fact that he has the best villains to go up against. Of those, there is none like that of the Joker. Joker is as iconic as Batman. There is just something magical about the clown prince of crime!
In the Batman Miniature Game by Knight Models, Joker leads a crew of clowns, free agents, and other assorted nefarious thugs. It is one of the largest crews in the game. With so many models available there is a pretty wide breath of strategies and product to purchase. Hopefully I can help you narrow down those choices.
