Knight Models DC Universe Aquaman Makes a Splash!!!

Jason Momoa Aquaman

Unboxing videos and blogs are a pretty common thing with gaming channels and media. WiscoDice has never done one…..until now!!!! For our first unboxing I picked the web exclusive Knight Models Aquaman (Jason Momoa). I have been slowly building and painting a Justice League team for their DC Universe Miniature Game. I love being able to collect some of my favorite super heroes. The thought of being able to even play a game with them gets me even more excited! I hope you are as excited as I am to get into the contents of this model.

The Packaging

The model itself comes in a single blister pack. The art and paintjob of the model look really cool and it honestly has great shelf presence if a retailer were able to actually acquire this and sell it. That said, this model isn’t available as a stand alone model except as a direct order from Knight Models. This isn’t a bad thing though. What Knight Models has done is reduced some product SKUs by combining the previous movie Justice League models into one, five model kit. It’s nice as I had purchased the other models previously to have an option to pick this one up separately so that I can complete the set of movie characters.

Raging Heroes Toughest Girls in the Galaxy II Kickstarter Freebies

Today arrived my freebies for backing the Raging Heroes Kickstarter for their Toughest Girls in the Galaxy II campaign. I have been a fan of Raging Heroes for quite some time and have a number of their models for my current dark elf and daemon armies for Warhammer Fantasy/9th Age. All of those models are metals and have been really, really well done. When I had backed this Kickstarter, Warhammer Fantasy (8th Edition) was still a thing and when I saw this, I thought I would use it as a way to build an all female model Dark Elf army. It’s taken a while, as with any miniature Kickstarter to get the models to the point that they can start to ship and this is just the very first bit of models that I will be receiving. The bonus is that I still plan on doing these guys up as a new army, but whether that actually ever hits the table or just becomes a hobby project…I am not sure yet.

Avengers Assemble. Marvel Universe Miniatures Game

Recently I picked up the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game by Knight Models. I have always been a fan of Marvel comics, since I was very young. Still, with the number of games I own that aren’t probably getting enough attention seems to continue to grow so I held off when I first saw this game released. After much staring at this and Knight Models Batman skirmish game for quite some time, I decided to jump all in and picked this game up.

Dropfleet Commander First Impressions

I didn’t really mention it much and we don’t talk much about Kickstarters and what we are backing on the show, but I backed the Dropfleet Commander one and it has recently made it to my door! If you don’t know what Dropfleet Commander is, it’s a space ship miniatures game intended to similulate fleet actions attempting to land assets on planetary locations for the purpose of defending or retaking planets. The game is by Hawk Wargames and their other big game, Dropzone Commander, is a 10 mm combined infantry/land/air assets attempting to retake stretegic locations within a small area of a planet.

Gen Con 2016 in Photos

Gen Con 2016 was great and I had a blast. This year was the busiest year that I have ever had with three True Dungeon runs, seminars, hobby events, and other craziness. My biggest three highlights for the show were:

  1. Going in with the rush at the opening of the vendor hall and buying the new Malifaux Crew Box, The Queen Returns for Neverborn.
  2. Doing the Hirst Arts resin casting class. Short and fast, but I learned so much about resin casting. Both safety tips and product tips.
  3. Being a part of the Infinity Seminar for what’s new that was done on Saturday and then walking away with a model for free. I had no idea how cool the seminar would be and actually walked out of their pumped about my PanOceania troops (which then got me to buy more models…..hmmmm…I see what they did there!!! Hahaha)

So we’ll be talking about this on the show I am sure, but in the mean time here are a ton of really quality pictures to tie you over!!!
