Mortarch of Nagash Unboxing

[singlepic id=932 w= h= float=right] Well, another week of releases and now we have the dreaded Mortarch’s of Nagash out. His mightiest of his Mortarch’s ride these giant terrifying mounts, which are new for them and something you don’t have an option for in their respective army books. These models all look pretty close to the same, but they have enough bits to make each one’s mount unique. Each rider has their own bits to make the models really unique.

What really had me intrigued about this kit was whether or not I could snag enough of the Arkhan the black bits to make an actual infantry version of the model for use with my Tomb King army when the rules for the army of undeath isn’t legal. Looking at the bits, it looks like this is definitely very viable as an option, but there is going to be some significant work adjusting the model or finding a set of legs that I can use to mount the figure on that will fit the figure well enough. Might just be a spot for me to work in some of those new sculpting skills.

Slaanesh Chaos Furies

[singlepic id=930 w= h= float=center]These models go back a long ways to when I was working on my Beastmen army. I only ever finished 3 complete models at the time before I had a case of regrets and really stopped playing the army. So little did I realize when I started this unit 2 years ago (or three, or whatever it really was…) that I would be re-purposing them for a Daemon army.

I want to note that this conversion, while probably the most extensive ones I have ever done are not my original ideas. You can search the net for a number of ideas like these. Heck, that’s how I came up with this idea myself! While I was working on the Beastmen, after doing the research, did I realize another very highly recognized hobbiest of Pointhammered fame had done a very similar conversion himself. It kind of put a break on this hobby project and I moved on with other things and other armies at the time.

Nagash Unboxing

So, I stopped by Pegasus Games today and picked up the mighty Nagash, greatest necromancer to have ever lived. For those that don’t get much into Warhammer fluff, let’s just say he pretty much single handedly created the Vampire Counts. Pretty awesome huh? Yeah, a guy like that just can’t be put down.

2 Vampire Character Conversions

IMG_20140813_162702722_HDRI don’t think there has been a podcast that I mentioned these guys on besides maybe saying I had more plans for conversions after the hellsteed vampire.  I’ll probably mention them in Episode 53.  These are two vampire models I did some conversions on that were pretty quick and easy but made for some really cool unique models.

Vampire on Hellsteed

I think this guy was mentioned in Episode 53 which we recorded right after I finished him.  This guy as the title says is a vampire on hellsteed that I converted up out of a few different kits as there isn’t any model for one at the moment.  Although I was hoping I’d have it done in a week when I started I still actually got this done pretty quick in only about 2 weeks.  I took a fair amount of work in progress pics and put them together with my thought process in this post for you all to check out.
