For today’s Board Game Brunch we played Ghostbusters published by Cryptozoic Entertainment for Board Game Brunch. This cooperative game is based on the 1984 film. Ghostbusters is a great game for fans of the movie, you play as one of the Ghostbusters. With each Ghostbuster having unique abilities and ghosts springing up at you, the movie feel definitely comes through.

Our scenario objective was to trap the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man. All four characters needed to contribute to corralling him. Towards the end, tt got a little tricky as our actions were limited while we were covered in so much slime. Nonetheless the Ghostbusters prevailed and sent the Stay Puff Marshmallow man away.

Not the healthiest brunch, but a fun one. Egon used the Twinkie in an analogy to explain how extreme the current psychokinetic energy (PKE) levels were during the first Gozer incident. So, of course, that has to be included. Additionally, to commemorate our defeat of the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man, we roasted him over fire.

In 2019, I attended my first GenCon. Ganymede was a game I signed up to play after doing some brief online research. During our first game we went online and secured a copy.

Board Game Brunch: Ganymede Game Setup

In the game you are recruiting settlers from Earth to travel to Mars and then Ganymede. Today we played with the Moon expansion. This expansion adds additional opportunities to recruit advisors, which provide additional bonuses and help to achieve your goal. Board Game Brunch: Ganymede Mid-Game State

Board Game Brunch: Dog Enjoying Ganymede

Our dog had to see what was going on, we were having so much fun.

Board Game Brunch: French Toast and Mimosas

For brunch we ate French toast. To launch the entrée out of this world, we made it with Cinnamon Crunch bread and topped it with summer flavors. Toppings included real whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and of course our favorite maple syrup. This Cinnamon Crunch Bread looks complicated, but was one of the easier breads I’ve made.
