Welcome to Kickstart Monday! This is our weekly series featuring 2 or more crowdfunding projects that have caught our eye. We scour over platforms like Kickstarter and Gamefound to find projects that interest us.

This week’s projects include:

Read on for why we picked them…

Red Dog Junction

Our first game this week is Red Dog Junction from Waterworks Games on Kickstarter.

Red Dog Junction is a fast paced 1 to 5 player game set in the far reaches of space. You play as a space freighter captain and assemble a crew with different specialties to help you with your goals. As you travel between planets, bases, the famous Red Dog trading junction, and deep space, you’ll be mining for resources, salvaging wrecks for cargo, trading your goods, interacting with other players by displacing other ships, swapping out cargo, and upgrading your own ship.

The game features a variety of mechanics including worker placement, tableau building, pickup and deliver, and market manipulation and promises to be quick paced at about 15-20 minutes per player. The game will also feature a challenging solo mode.

There are 3 different pledge levels available in this campaign so let’s take a look at those now:

  • Standard Edition – $59 – Red Dog Junction base game without deluxe components
  • Limited Edition – $84 – Red Dog Junction, with extra ships, metal gold cubes, and metal market die
  • All in Edition – $104 – Red Dog Junction deluxe edition with extra ships, metal gold and die, 2 bonus ships, expansion decks and a premium playmat

Your freighter and crew are waiting for you in Red Dog Junction, you just need to make a pledge before the campaign ends on July 8, 2025.

Even Deeper Regrets

Our next game is Even Deeper Regrets from Judson Cowan on Kickstarter.

Even Deeper Regrets is an Expansion for the 1 to 5 player game Deep Regrets which we featured on Kickstart Monday back in July 2024. Deep Regrets is an “unfortunate fishing game” with a humorous and Lovecraftian flare where you play a fisherman who fishes up increasingly bizarre and disturbing creatures from the sea giving you negative “Regret” cards that raise your madness level.

You’ll sell your catches and improve your equipment in hopes of bringing up more impressive and valuable fish to earn the most points at the end of the game. Even Deeper Regrets brings more of what you love from Deep Regrets along with some fun new twists.

There are 117 new, wonderfully illustrated fish cards in Even Deeper Regrets, with things like a cow carcass, a three headed eel and a vortex shark lurking in the deep for you. The expansion brings a new fishing location as well, you can choose to head inland and fish in the rivers or the Loch which have their own unique decks of cards.

There are some new supply cards in the form of pets like ferrets or cats that can aid you on the sea and also new Regret cards like the one point Brief Respite and the four point Even Deeper Regret that will mix things up. Some fish in the expansion will also earn you Clout, a new token type that you can spend as currency or be kept to score bonus points at the end of the game.

Even Deeper Regrets is available on Kickstarter for $35 which includes the expansion and some kickstarter exclusive cards. If you missed out on the original version you can snag the “All the Regret” pledge which will get you the Deep Regrets base game, the lamentable tentacles mini-expansion and Even Deeper Regrets all for $90. If you are ready to take the plunge into Even Deeper Regrets get over to Kickstarter and make your pledge before July 17, 2025, when the campaign ends.
