Welcome to Kickstart Monday! This is our weekly series featuring 2 or more crowdfunding projects that have caught our eye. We scour over platforms like Kickstarter and Gamefound to find projects that interest us. This week’s picks include:
- Trismegistus from Board&Dice on Gamefound
- Rolling Seas on Kickstarter from Nuts! Publishing
Read on to see why they caught our eye…
Trismegistus
Our first game this week is a new special edition of Trismegistus from Board&Dice on Gamefound.

Trismegistus is a 1 to 4 player heavy euro-style strategy game originally released in 2019 from notable designer Daniele Tascini. This new edition brings the game back with new streamlined complexity, improved graphic design and brand new artwork.
In Trismegistus players as researchers in the 19th century are competing to be the world’s greatest alchemist. During your alchemical studies You’ll draft dice to gain alchemical metals and then use the potency of your dice to take actions on your turn. You gain powerful artifacts, perform experiments, obtain critical metals and essences for your transmutations, and ultimately transmutate your metals to further your mastery of the elements.
You’ll also build a library of your arcane knowledge and publish the results of your completed experiments and goals to score points. After 3 rounds you’ll score and game points for your publications, books in your library, and your elemental mastery levels, and only one player will be remembered as history’s greatest alchemist!
Luckily you don’t need alchemy to get your hands on a copy of this game you just need to back one of these pledge levels:
- Trismegistus New Special Edition – $77 – the full game plus the deluxe upgrade pack and all unlocked stretch goals
- All In Pledge – $102 – Includes the base game, upgrade pack, the Familiars expansion and the new edition of the Trismegistus Roll&Write.
Make sure to get your pledges in soon for the new special edition of Trismegistus, because the Gamefound campaign ends on June 4, 2025.
Rolling Seas
Our second game this week is Rolling Seas on Kickstarter from Nuts! Publishing.
:strip_icc()/pic8779765.jpg)
Rolling Seas is a 1 to 6 player roll-and-write game where you will brave monster infested water and chart a course through stormy seas to explore islands and discover their mysteries. You will start out the game in your own personal sea map on your Home Port, and in each round you participate in 3 simultaneous phases: Adventure, Dice and Actions.
In the Adventure phase an Adventure card is revealed which will add adventures to your map that can be anything from sea monsters, storms or if you are lucky just smooth sailing. In the Dice phase you roll two dice to determine wind direction and exploration rewards. Depending on the dice you may want to stay on land to explore for treasure or use the winds to sail on to your next adventure.
Finally, in the Actions phase you make the choice to sail, explore or visit a port. When sailing and exploring you add to your personal Story, then later when you visit a port you will tell the tales of your exploits and earn Renown points for your Story. At the end of the game you’ll get the chance to tell your story one last time and you’ll add up all your Renown and bonuses from treasure you’ve collected in your hold, and mysterious monoliths and ports you’ve visited. The player that told the greatest tale with the most renown will be the winner!
Let’s see how to get our hand on the treasure available in this campaign:
- Sailor Pledge – $26 – The Base Game of Rolling Seas, 2 additional maps and any unlocked stretch goals
- Adventurer Pledge – $35 – Base Game, 2 additional maps, stretch goals and the Sea Dogs and Salty Tales expansion
If you are ready to set sail across these treacherous seas, go ahead and make your pledge now for Rolling Seas because the campaign ends on June 3, 2025.
