Halloween has come and gone, but the fun of the holiday is still here. This week on Kickstart Monday I have a couple of Kickstarter projects that should get your future Halloween’s full of a little more monster. Both of these Kickstarters feature miniatures that you can add to your collection. Let’s take a deeper look at Dire Alliance: Horror and Shattered Hell Kickstarter projects
Dire Alliance: Horror
Dire Alliance: Horror by Blacklist Games really feels like two projects rolled into one. First there is the Horror Series 1 plastic figures. These figures are really designed to be used in any horror or dark fantasy game. The figures feature a wide range of figures that includes many of your classic Victorian era tropes, though renamed, horror characters. These include a mad doctor in Doctor Kramer, the werewolf in Ellis (who has two forms), and various assorted groups of figures such as the Butchers and the Reclaimed. The entire collection of included figures, before Kickstarter add ons is claiming to be 107 figures. Quite a bit of plastic if you are looking for that.
This project isn’t done yet though! The Dire Alliance: Horror board game features tactical deckbuilding game for 1-4 players. It boasts two ways to play, effectively featuring a Battle Mode and a Raid Mode. In Battle Mode you will play cards that will activate your tokens (or figures) on a map to move around the board, attack your opponents and complete scenario victories. Meanwhile, in Raid Mode you will play against a villian which appears to be a game controlled faction. Again, playing cards to activate tokens (or miniatures) on the game map, and carry out actions to defeat the villian.
Shattered Hell
Shattered Hell by Creative God Foundry is a Kickstarter project focused on creating high quality resin and 3d printed figures. Figures are based on greek lore, Dungeons and Dragons, popular video games and other popular pop culture sources. I like this project because they allow for an option for those of us without 3D printers to still obtain some really cool physical copies of the miniatures. This is the second project by Creative God Foundry and this is the type of company I think Kickstarter was originally created for. This is a group of friends working to make cool figures so that people can play with, use in their games and play with these cool figures.
