Kickstart Monday: Deadly Vampires and Shadowy Necromancers

Welcome to Kickstart Monday!!!! This is our weekly series featuring 2 or more crowdfunding projects in the tabletop gaming industry. I scour over platforms like KickstarterGamefound, and Indigogo to find projects that interest me. People would ask me what I think is worth backing. Since I was providing these recommendations all ready, what better way to do it than post a weekly blog about projects I am interested in.

Stay informed when new Kickstart Monday projects come out by following us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and following the #KickstartMonday hashtag.

This week I thought I would look for some great, fresh content for Dungeon Masters of Dungeons and Dragons. Here are two great adventure supplements you might consider adding to any of your games.

Fanged Fables

Fanged Fables from Luna Publishing features 5 new Dungeons and Dragons 5E adventures that you can insert into almost any campaign. This supplement will provide any Dungeon Master with 5 mini-adventures involving vampires in their D&D game. Use these adventures as side quests or expand on one or some of them to create a unique campaign experience.

These adventures are designed for parties between 3rd and 13th level with tips on how to up or downscale them based on your group. Each adventure has its own set of objectives and narratives. A small town terrified by a blood-sucking beast, an abbey overtaken by horrors, and even an orc tribe with a lust for blood.

Do you think your players have what it takes to survive the horrors of the vampire? If you do, then you should consider backing this project.

Mini Adventure #1: Shadow of the Necromancer 1E/5E Boxed Set

Shadow of the Necromancer from Dark Wizard Games is a boxed set adventure supplement for Dungeons and Dragons 1 edition as well at 5th! This adventure is for characters levels 1-3. The premise of the adventure is a young necromancer takes up residence in the previous layer of a long-dead necromancer dead set to claim the power and spells of the latter.

I find the premise for this adventure really intriguing and worth diving into. This could easily be tied into another campaign where perhaps the players actually defeated the very necromancer that is mentioned in this book. Go back and explore the digs with the new occupants as low-level characters to bridge the two campaigns together.

If you like the idea of spooky adventures, low-level undead like zombies and skeletons, and want to see if you can horrify your players then consider backing this project.

TOCN Episode 3: Something A Foot

In this episode of Tales of the Cold North, our adventurers start off after defeating Sephek. It’s late at night, the aurora is lighting the sky, and the party is heading back to the inn. It’s then that Ricka notices footprints appearing in the snow. There is no sight of what’s creating those footprints.

Kickstart Monday: Going Medieval on Your Games

Welcome to Kickstart Monday!!! This is our typically weekly series featuring two or more crowdfunded projects for tabletop gaming. Every week I take a dive into what looks interesting on sites like Gamefound and Kickstarter. Hopefully, you will find these projects of interest too!

This week’s featured projects include an amazing 3D board game and a Dungeons and Dragons 5E supplement that is sure to spice up your city encounters. Hopefully, you are as interested as I am. Let’s check them out!

Hortven: King of Fortress

Hortven: King of Fortress from MasterGames features one of the more unique board games we have brought to Kickstart Monday to date. This game features an interactive, three-dimensional castle that you play the board game on. You will play as one of six playable characters interacting with the other players, game-controlled characters, and exploring the castle itself.

Since the big attraction to this game is the castle itself it definitely needs a number of cool components. You can open gates, doors, and other components of the castle itself as you play the game. On top of that, you will find crates and boxes scattered through the castle. Plundering those, also tangible objects, you will find treasures such as relics that you can use to help achieve victory.

If you are like me then just looking at this game has to bring out your inner child. I can see myself spending hours just playing with some miniatures around this, perhaps inserting the castle into a role-playing game. Of course, I would play the game too!

The City Attractions Package

The City Attractions Package from Evil Pidgeon Games will help you Dungeon Masters out there add new elements to your fantasy cities. Cities are more than just places to shop. People live there. They need activities. Town Criers, taverns, eateries, and more are the standard fare at most game tables.

This supplement will add NPCs, attractions, maps, random tables, and features that you can add into your fantasy cities to make them feel more real. It’s one thing to have players enter a city. It’s quite another for them to get a true feeling that the city is lived in, massive, and full of life.

If you are a Dungeon Master that is like me and wants to prep and create the best game experience for your players then this project is something you will likely want to look into.

Extra Life 2021 – D&D One Off The Darktides Night

For those of you considering participating in the Dungeons and Dragons One Off session here are all of the details. I want to say I am extremely excited to be running this game and am really looking forward to what kind of craziness will be explored.

Make sure you check out all of the details and donate to our Extra Life Campaign.

Event Description

Step into the world of Zyathé. Discover a haunted tree house and uncover a mystery that will surely chill you to the bone. Darktide’s Night is an evening when the spirits cross more easily into the material plane. It is best to stay indoors, whispered prayers to your deities on your lips, and protections at your doors.

Characters

We will be using pre-generated 2nd level characters. Each character will have a unique backstory and character traits to aid with roleplaying. At the start of session I will provide a link to the character sheets and each player will be able to select a character. If two players select the same character and can’t resolve who get will play the character, then I will roll a dice to determine.

Primary Rule

Have fun, but not at the expense of others. I see my job as the DM is to facilitate all of the players into having a good time. I hope you can bring the same attitude to the game.

Dice and Dice Rolls

I am using a trust system. Roll real dice, tell me what you rolled. Stay honest. This is a one off and it’s about the experience and the environments you will explore. Cheating at a few dice rolls won’t provide you any real significant challenge and a few failures ultimately are better for the story as a whole.

Wrapping Up

If you are interested in participating in this Dungeons and Dragons game or any of the other games we are hosting as part of our Extra Life 2021 effort check out the following for more information:
