Kickstart Monday: These Goblins Might Need a Minty Fresh Game

Scouring crowdsourcing platforms for this weeks games was an interesting challenge. It seems that this point in January is a bit lighter on projects that caught my eye, but hopefully these two projects will will make you feel minty fresh.

Return to the Court of the Goblin King

Effincool Miniatures is looking to license The Court of the Goblin King which was originally from Flytrap Factory in New Zealand. This project, the Return to the Court of the Goblin King, is a classic Kickstarter that features a company that needs funding for things like tooling, contracting a studio painter, and paying for the licensing. To me, this is what crowdfunding is all about.

The models themselves are takes on classic Scandanavian and Germanic folklore of goblins. Featuring a Goblin King on throne and various other golbins that become the goblin court. On top of that, if you back at the right level you have the chance to pick up a massive resin Hill Giant, a cave troll captive, and a number of cool stretch goal models.

Mint Bid

Mint Bid from Poketto is the latest in these Mint games to release. Each game in the series features a small metal tin that resembles those fresh mint tins. We actually own the other games in this series. Each game is very unique and would be great if you need something small to travel and play.

Mint Bid looks to feature you bidding for various locations to have a chance to rebuild the city after a super hero disaster. You may find yourself working with a partner to outbid the other team, but beware, each palyer is working to win the game on their own.

Kickstart Monday: Fantasy Jumping Right Off the Page!

We have a pair of Kickstarter treats for you this Monday! We are delving into our Fantasy roots with these two projects featuring our favorites! Dwarfs and Goblins. Only your backing can help determine who is the best. Let’s get chopping!

Female Fantasy Dwarfs by Martin Pirsch

Blood Bowl is hot right now with the release of season two edition and filling out those teams with cool models is always cool. In this new Kickstarter by Chaos Spawn Miniatures features alternate sculpts for Fantasy Sports Dwarfs. Of course, you could use these for any fantasy game, but they have all of the look for a game of Blood Bowl. If you have had enough with beards on your dwarfs, look to this Kickstarter to provide you some really cool alternate sculpts. Of course, the old dwarf in me is screaming that these aren’t nearly beardy enough!

Greenskull Castle – Miniatures

Emvicreative is a new company trying to get things moving with it’s first Kickstarter, Greenskull Castle – Miniatures. The miniatures will be resin cast with 15 different possible sculpts available. The models have a classic hawkish nose which will help them fit in with your existing goblin miniature lines. Alternatively, these would make great additions to a Fantasy roll playing game. All of these models have real character to them. I think that goes to the passion that the team has in creating these great figures.

5500 Points Lizardmen vs Orcs and Goblins

Yeah, this is special. Giving the 8th edition the kind of respect going out that it deserves. Kenny and I have a combined of close to 700 models on the table. Ok, 400+ are just in Orcs and Goblins figures!

Kenny is playing the Lizardmen and I am playing the Orcs and Goblins.

The game is over and clean up is finished. Look for the video and more pictures to be added soon from Kenny’s side of the game!
