Infinity USAdriana

Hey all. It’s been a little while, but between taking a break from the show (just a break!!!), things have been a little busy. Adepticon has come and went and there have been some serious panic hobby before and now I am riding the high of hobby post convention!!! I have always really liked the game mechanics for Infinity, but I haven’t been really keen on the PanOceania that I started the game with. I have always had my eyes on the look of the models for USAriadna since I started. I had originally went down the path of doing Combined Army, which I like the look and want to get back to that project at some point, my painting mojo just hasn’t been there to work on those figures. Our local Warcor announced and Infinity escalation league with a number of new players and I threw my hat in.

It started out with the USAriadna Army starter box I had here along with the Unknown Ranger and Van Zant Gen Con edition models I had laying around here and with less then a week before the league started, I raced to get those models done. I also started ordering some additional models to start filling out some special model selections and other options to help flesh out the army.

Gen Con 2016 in Photos

Gen Con 2016 was great and I had a blast. This year was the busiest year that I have ever had with three True Dungeon runs, seminars, hobby events, and other craziness. My biggest three highlights for the show were:

  1. Going in with the rush at the opening of the vendor hall and buying the new Malifaux Crew Box, The Queen Returns for Neverborn.
  2. Doing the Hirst Arts resin casting class. Short and fast, but I learned so much about resin casting. Both safety tips and product tips.
  3. Being a part of the Infinity Seminar for what’s new that was done on Saturday and then walking away with a model for free. I had no idea how cool the seminar would be and actually walked out of their pumped about my PanOceania troops (which then got me to buy more models…..hmmmm…I see what they did there!!! Hahaha)

So we’ll be talking about this on the show I am sure, but in the mean time here are a ton of really quality pictures to tie you over!!!

Combined Army Unidron Batroid

2016-05-20 20.24.19This is pretty much the final model at this point. I have done a couple of little touch ups, but nothing significant from this picture. You can see in the original post, the start of the color scheme and now in this near finished model you can really see the difference and direction I was working towards. I have to note that the way the flesh tone worked it’s way out, it’s not entirely the way I envisioned it, but it’s pretty satisfying and I am really happy with it.

Sci Fi Communications Array

2016-05-02 21.15.28This is a cool little piece of terrain I worked up that I received from Warlord Games when I bought the Gates of Antares starter box on pre-order (which looks like a really cool game that I want to play some time soon).

Infinity Combined Army Project

2016-05-17 22.38.42More Infinity! New project and what will be my army of choice some day with this game I think. Combined Army. Very much a WIP so far getting assembly and initial paint scheme down.
I am working the models in an all NMM scheme using blues as my primary color. I am using it in the metal plates of the armor to give it a blue tint and you can see it some in the plates currently, but I have probably 5-6 more layers at least before I get to a final highlight.
