Kickstart Monday: Amazing Dark Elves Join Forces with Creepy Cultists

After a week off, we’re back with a new Kickstart Monday for you. This time we are diving into the lands of miniatures with two really good crowd funded projects that should get you excited for these figures. Both of these projects feature real figures that are planned to be manufactured, not just 3D printed models!

These 28mm Eastern Dark Elf miniatures from Mirliton feature all of the models you would want to include in a fantasy dark elf army. These models are sculpted in 3D modeling software, but are being manufactured in white metal to be delivered to backers.

These models all have are themed around more middle eastern look and feel. This makes them really unique against other companies that are producing dark elf models. Whether you are building an old Warhammer Fantasy army, Ninth Age, Kings of War, or really any other system that uses 28mm figures these are sure to give you a really unique look at feel to your army on the tabletop.

Cultists and Zombies

Cultists and Zombies from RBJ Game Company features an assortment of 28mm figures cast in white metal. Not only is there a big and terrifying mythos monster, but an assortment of really unique zombies and cultists. Models are all sculpted to 28mm scale and so should roughly blend in with other miniatures of that scale.

These figures would be great to supplement a GM’s needs for a mythos RPG or a player who is looking to play a mythos skirmish wargame. If you are one of those people you should definitely check this one out.

You have options to back and receive the STL files for your 3D printing fun or with their partnership with Kazrak Miniatures you can back and receive metal or resin versions of these models.

On top of that, there are number of cool add-ons and stretch goals. That goblin hot dog vendor is one of my favorites!

Terra Mystica via Board Game Arena

On this week’s episode of the Diary, I dive into my recent experiences with organizing and participating in virtual, online gaming events. These events are a lot of fun. While no replacement for in person gaming, a little organization can make for a very fun filled day.

Favorite Memories and Plastic Treasures Await You in Dougan’s Delve

The Lords and Heroes of Dougan’s Delve

It’s been a long time since I spent time thinking about Warhammer Fantasy. At the end of things, when the End Times were upon us, our lives were changed forever as Games-Workshop announced the end of Warhammer Fantasy. When I set up my new game room I was able to put out the army on display (for the first time ever). It made me excited to think about getting the army back on the table.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

The Dwarf army was the very first army I ever thought about collecting when I originally purchased the Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition starter set. Yes, I was enamored with the valiant Brettonian Knights and the watery Lizardmen of that set. Indeed, even my first games were with those two armies. There was that glint of gold in my eye though as I dreamed of building that first dwarf army.

The Grim Knight Comes to Gotham

The Grim Knight

Every year Knight Models releases a new, limited print run miniature during their Black Friday sale. This year’s model is a brutal, well armed, alternate version of Batman, The Grim Knight!

The Grim Knight comes from an alternate universe to the main DC comic books. In this universe, after the fall of his parents to Joe Chill Bruce Wayne takes up guns. Not just one gun, but lots of guns as can be seen on the miniature.

In that moment where Bruce’s parents are murdered, Joe Chill drops his gun and gathers the pearls that are bounding around the street. It’s in that one moment that this alternate Bruce picks up the gun. Fires the gun. Not only altering Bruce Wayne forever by changing that one rule that makes Batman so unique over other vigilantes. Bruce kills Joe Chill.

In this article, I review the latest Black Friday special release model from Knight Models. Check out The Grim Knight and see what he can do!
