Is the Geeknson Henry Gaming Table For You? Board Game Table Review

Geeknson’s Henry Gaming Table Ready to Play Spirit Island

The Geeknson Henry Gaming Table is our second gaming table. It’s a beautifully made table but does so at a costly price point. This type of gaming accessory is most definitely a luxury item. Not everyone needs one, and a gaming table like this is not a minor consideration when deciding to purchase one. We hope this review will help guide you in making the decision if this table is right for you.

When we bought our new house, we decided we wanted to invest in our second gaming table. Our first table is a Jasper Gaming Table from Allplay (formerly BoardGameTables.com) This table is an excellent table for all of the reasons in our previous review. However, for our new space, we wanted to have a signature table that more closely matches the wood finishes and look of the room as a whole.

Kickstart Monday: Miniature Painting System and Gaming Tables

Welcome to Kickstart Monday!!!! This is our weekly series featuring 2 or more crowdfunding projects in the tabletop gaming industry. I scour over platforms like KickstarterGamefound, and Indigogo to find projects that interest me. People would ask me what I think is worth backing since I was providing these recommendations already. So why not share my thoughts with a weekly blog about projects that interest me?

Stay informed when new Kickstart Monday projects come out by following us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and following the #KickstartMonday hashtag.

This week on Kickstart Monday it’s time to dive into accessories for the tabletop gaming room. I will take a look at a modular miniature painting system that looks really cool. In addition, a lower-cost modular gaming table that can be assembled to accommodate almost any gaming needs (assuming you purchase the correct components).

The DMG Mini Painting System

The DMG Mini Painting System

The DMG Mini Painting System from Dog Might Games (DMG) features hardwood modular components that come together as a luxury miniature hobbyist painting station. These well-made modular components are magnetic to allow you to customize and grow your miniature hobby area. Ideal for a permanent setup, because of the magnetic components and smaller nature of the modular set up you can pretty easily store and set up this hobby station as you need it.

One of the things that I would recommend you look at with this project is the layout you are able to accommodate with your current painting station. An appropriate amount of planning so that you can add the right number of brush holders, shelves, and other accessories to your hobby station will be key.

If you are like many of us and paint miniatures and terrain then this project will have something that may interest you!

Project Ironside – A Extendable Board Game Table

Project Ironside from Cloud Puncher Games is introducing their take on the budget board game table. The table is made to be modular and can be assembled using additional tables for different sizes and layouts. Another interesting component of this table is that the frame itself is made of pure steel. The table is listed as available in three colors, black, white, and brown.

There are a few options to bling your table. From armrests, the neoprene playing surface, wood toppers, cup holders, and more. All of the standard components you would expect are available for this table. That said, a single table with roughly a 3×5 foot play space is what you will get at the $399 promised budget entry point. When you start throwing in add-ons to this project can really wrack up the price point.

If you are in the market for a game table but want to make sure that this comes in at a budget price this project may have the solution you are looking for!

Did we miss your favorite project?

Thank you for checking out this week’s Kickstart Monday! If you find these interesting or want some attention on a Kickstarter or other crowdfunded projects that you would like to read more about please share your thoughts with us via our social media or email.

Like most gamers these accessories are all optional. In addition, I have sorted them a bit by how important of versatile they are to the collection and by general category. Not all of these items will be good fits for your game room or the types of games you play. Hopefully though, you will get some ideas of what to add to your room. We would love to hear about things you are using to accessorize your gaming room so give us a shout out if you think we missed something.
